Alfa Romeo Mito has now been upgraded by the latest recipient of Fiat’s diesel engine MultiJet II. As well as meeting the latest Euro 5 emissions standards it is the most economical engines in the range. The new unit develops 95bhp thanks to the inclusion of the latest high-precision injectors and a second generation variable vane turbocharger.
Compared to the outgoing power unit low speed torque is said to be up to 25% greater. With the new engine the claimed performance figures are 0-62mph in 11.6 seconds, 112mph top speed and 65.7mpg – with CO2 emissions of 112g/km.
